VIP
What is it?
VIP means vasoactive intestinal peptide, a 28-amino-acid signalling peptide. The attachment uses “VIP5” as the name alongside two strengths; this library groups those entries under VIP. Synthetic VIP is also discussed under the medicine-development name aviptadil.
How it is studied
VIP receptor signalling influences vascular tone, secretion and immune-related functions. These broad effects explain why the compound has been investigated in several disease settings. A naturally occurring physiological role does not demonstrate that administering extra peptide improves general health.
What the evidence shows
The TESICO randomised trial studied intravenous aviptadil in COVID-19-associated hypoxaemic respiratory failure. It did not establish improvement in the primary clinical outcome. Other small studies examine distinct routes and diseases, so their findings should not be merged into a universal benefit claim.
Limitations & safety context
Blood-pressure and gastrointestinal effects are relevant to this signalling system. A disease-specific hospital study does not validate a catalogue vial for wellness or personal use. Exact identity and formulation require confirmation separately from the VIP5 or VIP10 code.
