Growth-factor signalling
Ipamorelin
What is it?
Ipamorelin is a synthetic peptide investigated as a growth hormone secretagogue: a compound that stimulates release of growth hormone. It acts through the growth hormone secretagogue / ghrelin receptor system, which differs from the GHRH pathway targeted by CJC-related compounds.
How it is studied
Early pharmacology assessed growth-hormone responses and selectivity relative to other hormonal effects in experimental systems. Selectivity in those experiments does not mean the compound is free of endocrine effects or safe under different conditions.
What the evidence shows
The original 1998 pharmacology paper characterised ipamorelin in experimental models. A separate study modelled its pharmacokinetics and growth-hormone response in human volunteers. These are useful mechanistic studies, not proof of lasting changes in muscle, sleep, recovery or lifespan.
Limitations & safety context
Hormonal response is a biomarker rather than a clinical benefit by itself. Long-term safety and outcomes cannot be inferred from short studies or from combining ipamorelin with another secretagogue. The supplied amounts do not establish purity, sequence or batch consistency.
