GHRP-6 Acetate

Ghrelin-receptor secretagogue peptideHuman mechanistic studies

What is it?

GHRP-6 is a synthetic peptide studied for stimulation of growth-hormone release through the secretagogue receptor pathway. The attachment specifies an acetate form. GHRP-6 and GHRP-2 are related research tools but are different molecules and should not be considered interchangeable.

How it is studied

Ghrelin-receptor signalling can interact with GHRH-driven secretion. Human studies have used this interaction to investigate pituitary reserve and endocrine responses. A diagnostic stimulation response is not evidence of an ongoing health or performance benefit.

What the evidence shows

A multicentre study compared combined GHRH/GHRP-6 testing with an insulin-tolerance test in healthy controls and adults with growth-hormone deficiency. It examined diagnostic discrimination under clinical conditions, rather than body composition or training outcomes.

Limitations & safety context

Baseline endocrine function and the presence of other hormones affect interpretation of GH responses. Appetite and broader endocrine effects require consideration in this class. Supplier mass and a short reference code do not establish clinical equivalence or an appropriate purpose for personal use.
