GHK-Cu
What is it?
GHK-Cu is a complex of copper with the tripeptide glycyl-histidyl-lysine. The copper complex and copper-free GHK are related but distinct specifications. Total mass is not enough to identify the copper content, hydration state or other features of a supplied material.
How it is studied
Research examines interactions with extracellular-matrix biology, including molecules involved in matrix remodelling. Cellular pathways that influence skin or connective-tissue behaviour can be studied without demonstrating a cosmetic or clinical benefit from a separate vial.
What the evidence shows
A fibroblast-culture study investigated matrix metalloproteinase-2 and its inhibitors. This is evidence about cells in a laboratory setting. It does not by itself determine the behaviour of a topical finished product, an injectable preparation or a material with a different copper specification.
Limitations & safety context
The experimental formulation and analytical identity need to match before results are compared. A recognised role in cell biology does not verify claims of hair growth, systemic rejuvenation or injury treatment. Copper content and impurities are relevant to the suitability of research material.
