MOTS-c
What is it?
MOTS-c is a 16-amino-acid peptide associated with a short open reading frame in mitochondrial DNA. It has been investigated as a signal linking mitochondria with cellular metabolism, rather than as a conventional nutrient or direct source of energy.
How it is studied
Foundational research examined metabolic pathways involving AMPK, which helps cells respond to energy availability. Such signalling can change how experimental systems handle metabolic stress. The presence of a pathway does not demonstrate an immediate subjective energy boost.
What the evidence shows
The original 2015 study used cellular experiments and mouse models to investigate metabolic regulation. Its findings are a basis for further research, not a controlled demonstration of weight loss, exercise enhancement or improved longevity from a supplier vial in people.
Limitations & safety context
Endogenous peptide biology and administration of an independently manufactured peptide are different questions. Experimental sequence, purity and material handling can affect results. The attachment supplies two contents but no batch-specific evidence that they meet a defined research specification.
