Neuropeptides
Selank
What is it?
Selank is a synthetic seven-amino-acid peptide related to tuftsin, an immune-associated peptide. It appears in research on neurobiological and regulatory-peptide effects. It is a different sequence from Semax, even though the two are often discussed together.
How it is studied
Experimental mechanisms include changes in the metabolism of regulatory peptides. Human-serum enzyme work investigated inhibition of enzymes that degrade enkephalins. The clinical significance of an enzyme effect cannot be determined from that assay alone.
What the evidence shows
Biodegradation work has characterised fragments produced from Selank in experimental systems. This helps distinguish the parent compound from metabolites, whose activities may differ. The cited sources are mechanistic studies, not proof that the catalogue vial treats anxiety or improves cognition.
Limitations & safety context
Safety and efficacy require formulation-specific and population-specific evidence. Descriptions such as “calming” do not resolve those questions. The two listed strengths provide mass information, while sequence, purity and batch identity remain unverified by the attachment.
