Metabolic signalling
Survodutide
What is it?
Survodutide is a synthetic peptide studied for glucagon and GLP-1 receptor activity. It has been investigated in obesity and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), a form of inflammatory fatty-liver disease. It is a distinct molecule from mazdutide despite a similar receptor pairing.
How it is studied
The two receptor activities link appetite and glucose signalling with glucagon-related metabolism. Liver research asks whether changes in these pathways affect inflammation and tissue injury. A mechanism provides a hypothesis, not a guarantee of liver recovery or weight loss.
What the evidence shows
A randomised phase 2 trial published in 2024 evaluated survodutide in MASH and fibrosis. It assessed defined liver outcomes under controlled conditions. Disease-specific findings should be interpreted separately from body-weight outcomes or performance claims.
Limitations & safety context
Gastrointestinal adverse events and treatment discontinuation are relevant to the trial interpretation. Results for supervised participants with diagnosed liver disease do not justify personal use of a catalogue vial. Exact molecular identity and formulation must be confirmed independently of the SUR10 code.
